Adhésion de l’Azawad  à l’Organisation des Etats Africains Émergents (OEAS)

Le 18 novembre 2013, l’Azawad a été admis en tant que membre de l’Organisation des Etats Africains Émergents, l’OAES (Organization of Emerging African States), une organisation intergouvernementale qui défend les intérêts de l’autodétermination nationale en Afrique. Basée à Washington DC, l’OEAS est membre observateur de l’ONU. Elle a été créée en 2010 sur les principes de la Déclaration de Washington relative à l’autodétermination en Afrique.

L’Organisation des Etats Africains Émergents (OAES) se définit comme une organisation qui lutte pour l’autodétermination des peuples africains et la fin des frontières coloniale en Afrique, considérant celles-ci comme étant une construction artificielle du 20è siècle à l’origine de millions de victimes en Afrique.

Le destin tragique de l’Azawad depuis 1963 étant la conséquence directe du maintien forcé des frontières coloniales et du déni du droit international à l’autodétermination des peuples, pourtant reconnu et garanti par le droit international, l’Azawad a rejoint les Etats membres de l’OAES dont il devient le 13è membre. Les membres de L’OEAS, dont notamment le Biafra, le Sud Cameroun, le Cabinda, les Iles Canaries et la Kabylie, sont unis par un principe commun : ils luttent tous pour l’autodétermination de leurs peuples et croient fermement que l’autodétermination des peuples d’Afrique est inéluctable.

En vertu de son adhésion à la déclaration de Washington sur l’autodétermination en Afrique, l’Azawad a rejoint l’Organisation des Etats Africains Emergents (OEAS) et y est représentée par le Mouvement national pour la libération de l’Azawad (MNLA) à compter du 18 novembre 2013, pour faire et valoir ce que de droit.

Azawad Joins the OEAS

Washington DC:

The Independent State of Azawad has become a member of the Organization of Emerging African States – OEAS, a governmental organization established in 2010 that promotes self determination and the end to colonial era boundaries in Africa. Azawad joins OEAS member states like Cabinda, Southern Cameroons, and Biafra in seeking self determination for its people. Azawad is represented at the OEAS by the National Movement for the Liberation of Azawad (MNLA).

The Independent State of Azawad was declared in April 2012 by the MNLA with control over Timbuktu, Kidal, Gao, and part of Mopti region with the intentions of establishing a secular government and freeing the region from corrupt and ineffective Malian rule. The Economic Community of West African States refused to recognize Azawad or come to the aid of the MNLA which was under attack by foreign influenced extremists.

Belatedly the international community heeded the MNLA call for assistance as Azawad was plundered and terrorized by extremists. The MNLA and a French led coalition freed the country from tyranny while the MNLA tried to resolve it territorial differences with government of Mali.

The MNLA continues to seek international recognition for Azawad. Despite the peaceful intentions of the MNLA it has had to defend itself from aggressive actions by the Malian Army and human rights violations against citizens of Touareg origin.

The OEAS which includes a North African block of Rif, Kabylia and the Canary Islands will be working closely with Azawad on a legal and economic offensive in favor of the total independence of Azawad, peaceful coexistence with Mali and recognition of the MNLA government.
